Old Cambrian Society (Kenya chapter)
Annual Dinner-Dance
Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi
1st October 2004

What a fantastic evening!!

Over 100 Old Cambrians gathered together at the Norfolk, and for many it was the first time they had met up since leaving school.....20, 30, 40 years ago. All a little older, some showing distinguished greying of the hair (others with no hair!!), but all were still young at heart!

Grateful thanks to the organisers - the Class of 69 - (Jack Asiyo, Mumo Mwendwa, et al) for arranging a great evening, superb food and groovy 60s and 70s music. OCs were generous in donating raffle prizes, and Jake Grieves-Cook managed to extract loads of money out of us - all proceeds going towards projects at the School.

The Principal (Headmaster), Mr Robert Masese brought us up to date on how the school is performing nowadays, and it is encouraging to see that the school is rapidly regaining it's status of being one in the top three schools in Kenya. We all look forward to the day when academic results, as well as sporting achievements, of the school are second to none!!

It has been decided to hold future annual dinners on the first Friday of October, and the responsibility for 2005 is with the Class of 1970.....i.e. those of us who started at the school in Form 1 in 1970. Regular planning meetings will take place starting in January 2005, and the annual event can only go from strength to strength.

(Report by Webmaster - Steve Le Feuvre). If anyone else wants to chip in with their comments about the evening, please e-mail Webmaster.
