Auction of Prince of Wales School Medal

Prince of Wales School Medal sells for £550 !!

Final bids were taken at the Annual Dinner of the Old Cambrian Society (UK) held at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly, London on Friday 11th April 2008.

The medal was sold for a staggering £550 to Brian Wood (Scott 1955-8), and he is now the proud owner of this unique piece of Prince of Wales School memorabilia.

The proceeds of the sale of the medal are going to the Old Cambrian Society Trust Fund, and the Society is indebted to Dave Masheder (Clive 1965-1970) for donating this exquisite piece of history of our wonderful school. The copper medal is 38mm (1½ inches) in diameter and was presented from the 1930s for achievement particularly in sport. The medal is “blank” and was given to Dave by the Bursar in November 1970; why, he doesn’t know.
