On 28th Sept 2009, Webmaster received a copy of an e-mail from Mike Purves that he had received via the Kenya Regiment Association:
"It is my sad duty to report that John Wyber passed away on Sunday the 27th September 2009 after battling Cancer, as
reported by David Wyber".
The following was John's entry in the Alumni section of this web site prior to his death:

From a farm in Molo. Nakuru School and later Nairobi Primary School.
Head of Grigg House 1959-60 and Head of School 1960.
Indifferent sportsman, except rifle shooting! To Kenya Regiment, then Cambridge University. Thence to be a Chartered
Accountant, first in London, and then in Perth, Western Australia. Moved to academia in 1973, including return to the UK
for an MSc in systems analysis at Aston University. Jobs included teaching in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta
and Beijing. Had spells back in practice, working mainly in IT auditing and operational auditing.
Retired from the university in 2005, but undertaking operational auditing contracts when interesting jobs are offered.
Travelling with my wife, from time to time, within Australia and overseas. Daughter is a marketing executive with BP in
Melbourne, and son is currently in a water reuse research project with Thames Water in London.
