Dear Steve,
I am writing to let you know that Martin Platt passed away on the 17th April, aged 79.
You met him at the dinner held at Mordialloc during your visit to Melbourne and Mt Martha in January 2009.
He was the oldest person there. Martin was a prefect in Grigg House in 1950.
Martin was a distinguished physicist working for many years with CSIRO, the Australian Scientific Reseach
Organization, on cloud physics. His reseach, collaborating with NASA, sent up instrunments on the explorer space craft.
