We are writing to enter our fathers name in your register of ex-POW students. Philip Girouard Bennett (born 11 October 1930) attended POW. We know he passed the school certificate in 1945. We think he was in Hawke House? He was from Kitale, Kenya - a farming family. Father Philip (Jack) John Bennett and mother Marjorie and brother Mike.
He migrated to Australia in 1963 with his wife Jeryl, daughter Mary and son Philip. He farmed in the south west of Western Australia at Rocky Gully, a sheep and cattle farm.
He died in Albany, Western Australia in May 2000. He leaves his wife Jeryl Elizabeth (nee Brown) living in Albany, Western Australia. He is succeed by his daughter Mary Elizabeth Montefiore and son Philip Thomas Bennett both living in Australia.
Any information about our father would be gratefully recieved. He loved Africa and told fond tales of his time growing up in Kenya.
Thank you.
Philip and Mary (Montefiore) Bennett
